AICV is the newest generation of inflow control downhole and has the designed ability to close as a valve.

The AICV® behaves like a conventional ICD and AICD for the oil but chokes the gas and water significantly better vs oil and can managed Ultralow viscosities (0.3-1.0 cP).

First global installation August 12, 2015, in Saudi Arabia (SPE 182755). More than 70 wells run as of Nov 2019 where it has shown a dramatic reduction in gas rate and water rate, and correspondingly increased oil production/recovery.

Produce more oil faster and enhance total recovery whilst producing much less unwanted water and/or gas.
